DAR Membership Requirements

Do you have a Revolutionary Patriot in your family tree? Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honors and preserves the legacy of your Patriot ancestor. Over two hundred years ago (1775-1783), American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. As a member of DAR, through participation in the Society’s various programs and activities, you can continue this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors.

Eligibility

To be eligible for DAR membership you must be no less than eighteen years of age and must be able to prove blood descent from an ancestor who added our country in achieving American independence. You must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death.

If interested, please contact the chapter for more information by sending a message to Chapter Query. Members of the Chapter, State Organization, or National DAR Society will gladly assist you.
